Personal data processed
The Site processes browsing data. By way of example, this category of data includes: the IP addresses or computer names used by users connecting to the Site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the requests, the method used to submit the requests to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and IT environment.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text strings. They are created by a server and stored on the hard disk of the computer or on any other device used by the user to access a website (smartphone, tablet, etc.), and are then retransmitted to that website on the user’s subsequent visit.
Cookies allow, for example, the activation of functions and customizations aimed at facilitating the user’s interaction with a website, keeping track of items in a shopping cart or information for filling out an electronic form.
With regard to duration, cookies are classified as session cookies and persistent cookies.
Session cookies disappear when the browser is closed or have a limited duration.
Persistent cookies are stored permanently on the user’s computer or other device and have variable duration.
Cookies that expire at the end of a session (normally when a user closes the browser) are useful, for example, for security purposes, such as when the user accesses their mailbox or a restricted area of a site. Cookies stored for a longer period of time (between sessions), on the other hand, serve, for example, to remember users’ preferences (such as the browsing language on a website) or to deliver targeted advertising.
With reference to origin, cookies are classified as first-party cookies or third-party cookies. First-party cookies are installed directly by the website the user is visiting, while third-party cookies are installed by a domain different from the one the user is visiting, for example when the website incorporates elements from other sites, such as images or social media plugins.
Depending on their purpose, cookies are classified as technical, analytical and profiling cookies.
Technical cookies are necessary for the correct functioning of a website, because they enable functions that allow, secure and facilitate the user’s browsing experience; for example, the user can select the language in which they wish to browse a website without having to set it every time, or access their profile without having to log in each time. This category includes strictly necessary cookies and functional cookies.
Analytical cookies, which may be first-party or third-party cookies, are installed to collect information on the use of a website. In particular, they are useful for statistically analyzing access to or visits to a website and for allowing the owner to improve its structure, navigation logic and content.
Profiling cookies, which may be first-party or third-party cookies, are used to track the user’s browsing, analyze their behavior for marketing purposes and create profiles regarding their tastes, habits, choices, etc. In this way, for example, it is possible to deliver targeted advertising messages related to the user’s interests and in line with the preferences expressed during online browsing. This category includes targeted advertising cookies and social cookies.
Which cookies does this Site use and for what purposes?
With reference to origin, users are informed that the Site uses first-party and third-party cookies.
The use of third-party cookies is governed by the rules laid down by those third parties; users are therefore invited to consult the privacy notices of the third parties indicated in the illustrative tables of the cookies used by the Site.
With regard to duration, the Site uses both session cookies and persistent cookies.
Finally, with regard to the purposes pursued, the Site uses technical, analytical and profiling cookies.
Below, for each type of cookie, the name, whether it is first-party or third-party, the purpose of use and the duration are indicated.
List of cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website, when visited by a user, asks the browser to store on the device in order to remember information such as preferred language or login data. These cookies are set by us and are called first-party cookies. We also use third-party cookies — meaning cookies from a domain different from that of the website being visited — for our advertising and marketing efforts. In particular, we use cookies and other tracking technologies for the following purposes:
Strictly necessary technical cookies
These technical cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Site and essential to provide the service requested by the user. These cookies cannot be disabled and their installation does not require the prior consent of the data subject. It is possible to set the browser to block or alert about these cookies, but in that case some parts of the Site will not function. These cookies do not store personal information.
Analytical cookies
These cookies are installed to collect information on the use of the Site. These cookies allow the Company to count visits and traffic sources, know which pages are the most and least popular, and see how users move around the Site, so that statistical analyses can be carried out to improve the Site’s structure, navigation logic and content.
Profiling cookies for targeted advertising
These profiling cookies make it possible to record the preferences detected during each visit and create profiles for the sending of messages more closely aligned with the user’s interests. They may be set through the Site by the Company and/or by the Company’s advertising partners. They may be used by the Company’s advertising partners to build a profile of the user’s interests and show relevant advertisements on other sites. These cookies do not directly store personal information, but are based solely on uniquely identifying the user’s browser and internet device. If the user does not accept these cookies, they will not receive targeted advertising.
Unclassified cookies
These cookies have not yet been classified.
With reference to analytical cookies, the Site uses Google Analytics to collect information, in aggregated form and in compliance with the anonymization measures provided for by Provision no. 231 of 10 June 2021 of the Italian Data Protection Authority, on the number of users visiting the Site and on how they use it, in order to prepare general statistics on the service and its use, without making it possible to identify individual users. Google Analytics settings provide for data sharing with Google in order to use the following services: i) Benchmarking, namely participation in the collection of anonymous data that help better understand data performance; ii) Technical support, to allow Google to provide support; and iii) Account specialists, to allow Google marketing experts to provide suggestions for improving configuration and analysis.
For further details and information, please visit the provider’s page here.
The user may disable Google Analytics cookies by downloading a specific browser plug-in available here.
How are cookie preferences managed?
When accessing any page of the Site for the first time, a banner is displayed containing a short notice and the cookie preference management panel. The user has the possibility to select and deselect cookies grouped by homogeneous categories. Consent to the use of cookies is recorded by means of a specific “technical cookie”. Closing the banner by selecting a button marked with an X, located in the upper-right corner of the banner, results in the default settings remaining in place and therefore browsing continuing without cookies other than strictly necessary technical cookies. There is also a specific command through which the user may express consent by accepting the installation of all cookies.
In any case, the choices regarding the cookies used by the Site may be easily changed at any time by clicking on the button that appears on every page of the Site in the lower-left corner.
The user may also express their cookie preferences through the settings of the browser used. Most browsers automatically accept cookies by default; however, if browser preferences are set appropriately, it is possible to reject them or accept them selectively (below are the methods offered by the main browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Edge, Internet Explorer).
Disabling or blocking cookies or deleting them may impair the optimal use of certain areas of the Site or prevent certain functions, and may also affect the functioning of third-party services.
For information relating to the use of cookies by Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn, users are invited to consult the respective Facebook, Instagram, Google, Twitter e LinkedIn websites.
To monitor the collection of data for analysis purposes carried out by Google Analytics cookies, users are invited to visit the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on page where, if they wish, they may disable such cookies by downloading the specific browser plug-in available there.
Is acceptance of cookies mandatory?
Strictly necessary technical cookies are used to ensure correct browsing within the Site and to provide the service requested by the user; therefore, their installation does not require the user’s prior consent, as indicated in the relevant paragraph. Likewise, for anonymous analytical cookies, treated as technical cookies due to the characteristics described in the relevant paragraph, the user’s prior consent is not required.
As regards the remaining types of cookies, they are installed only after the user’s consent has been obtained. Such consent is optional. Refusal of consent may however result in certain parts of the Site not functioning properly.
Persons authorized to process the data
The data may be processed by employees of company departments responsible for pursuing the purposes indicated above, who have been expressly authorized to process the data and have received appropriate operating instructions.
Recipients of the data
The user’s data may be processed by external parties acting as data controllers, such as, by way of example, supervisory and control authorities and bodies, and in general parties, including private parties, entitled to request the data, Public Authorities making an express request to the Data Controller for administrative or institutional purposes, in accordance with the applicable national and European legislation, as well as individuals, companies, associations or professional firms providing assistance and consulting services.

The user’s personal data may be processed, where explicit consent has been provided, by third parties to whom they are disclosed.
Transfer of personal data to countries outside the European Union
The data collected using cookies may be transferred to countries outside the European Union whose level of data protection has been deemed adequate by the European Commission pursuant to Article 45 of the GDPR.
In addition, personal data may be transferred abroad to non-European countries, in particular the United States (by way of example and not limitation, Google, Social Networks), following the execution of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted and approved by the European Commission pursuant to Article 46(2)(c) and (d).
A copy of the safeguards adopted may be obtained by contacting the Data Controller at it.privacy@enginium.eu.
Rights of the data subject
Data subjects may ask the Data Controller for access to the data, their erasure, rectification of inaccurate data, completion of incomplete data, as well as restriction of processing in the cases provided for by Article 18 of the GDPR.
Furthermore, where the conditions for exercising the right to data portability under Article 20 of the GDPR are met, data subjects have the right to receive the data provided to the Data Controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and, where technically feasible, to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance.
Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in particular in the Member State in which they habitually reside or work, or in the State where the alleged infringement occurred).
